Bold. Medium in acidity. Smooth on the palate. Well-balanced. Notes of blackberry, plum, and cassis with a hint of oak, chocolate, and vanilla. A little bit minty. Savory. Expensive but worth it.
The wine that got me into wine
Amazing stuff, got it as a gift and opened it on my Wife's Birthday... Wonderful Wine, probably the best I have had in the past 15 years... 👏👍
Stunning red, the only issue is how to keep it in the cellar as knowing it is there is soooo tempting
Bold taste, slightly sweet yet dry and bitter after taste. Can’t explain it but it’s awesome
Fruity , velvety, Dark berries. Just wow. I could finish the whole bottle myself.
Well rounded, beautiful fruit perfect balance with tannin
Truly superb!
Very very good
Smooth and rich. The aftertaste this leaves in your mouth has me coming back for more. Never had a red that smooth. Excited to explore more of the Grant burger premium range.

Very decent wine served in CX Wing F, nice bold and herbal nose with mint, eucalyptus, and forest floor. Fruit wise has a nice plum, black cherry and prune. Furthermore it has a nice wooden hint of cedar oak and fresh vanilla. As for the palate, it has a nice plum, blackberry and dark fruit hint with a nice chocolate finishing.
Excellent intensity and depth of fruit, silky smooth texture with soft tannins and a rich mouthfeel.
smoooooth and dark at heart with a sculpted sour finish. great on opening so much more polished the following day. just great wine
Made from Shiraz vines almost 100 years old, this stunning shiraz bears the name of the founder of The Burge. A quintessential Barossa shiraz

Stunning. Purple and round
Leer met aardse geuren . In de afdronk drop , braambessen jam , vanille , zwarte kers . Tannines die diep blijven hangen
Savoury, bold, earthy. Beautiful.
A mack daddy of the barossa. A dark brooding shiraz. Lots of dark fruit and oak. Had lots of vintages and it's always a wonderful balancing act between the fruit and the oak. Oak always makes an appearance and it works. Big! Reminds me of Cassius Clay.
A big, bold wine, which is smooth, fruity and delicious. For a special occasion, or because you deserve it!
Grosser Australier!
Excellent
Deep purple (na na na, na na na-na). Fantastic dry fruit, leather, cedar, cigar box flavours. Long smooth finish. Molto bene.
Delectable Blue shared this splendid wine, tasted blind, distinctively Barossa Shiraz. Deep ruby. A massive nose w. pronounced aroma intensity w. punchy black cherry, intense blackberry, creamy vanilla oak, pepper, clove & coffee. Fantastic richness but still w. stylish elegance. Developing. Dry. Super rich w. good balancing high acid, high fine tannins & superb fruit concentration. Coffee, leather, clove, vanilla & prune. Blackberry, black cherry & cassis w. bitter chocolate, high alc & a lon
👁 deep blood red opaque yet bright & glossy. 👃 lifted and aromatic with deep dark florals. 👅 ultra fine silk like tannins. Complex elegant with a depth and complexity that is impressive. There is some fruit & oak sweetness. Elegant sexy & refined with excellent balance. 📝 this is from a hot vintage & sees 50/50 America French oak. Compared to 2010 it isn't as expressive as fresh or as long but still a great wine.
95 Points, drink now until 2032. Deep ruby with no rims. Profound nose of black berries and cherry, bitter almond and Kirsch, slightly animalic and toasted, fermented tobacco and spices, very slightly overripe fruit, but all in very good balance. Full bodied on the palate and perfect structure, but will certainly gain complexity with additional cellaring. So no hurry here, a great Barossa Valley example from the Baron himself made from 100+ years old grapes. Finishing fruit-sweet and very long..
Vivino Melbourne meetup #4/plenty care of Richard. Lovely aromas of cassis, dried fruit with a high note of mint/blueberry/thyme type aromas. An elegant palate with rich, luscious flavours l. Concentrated and deep without any jamminess commonly associated with Barossa. Hint of leather on the finish that leads into a cassis aftertaste. Beautiful silky tannins that age has integrated perfectly. High acidity. Medium body.
The first time I've opened a bottle of Meshach, I was introduced to it by @[1|47623479|Blind Faith] with a sample of the 2012 vintage earlier this year. Barossa old vines planted around 1920, aged 2 years in French and American hogsheads. Deep ruby, this has an intense aroma of cassis, black cherry, cinnamon, mint and chocolate. Vibrant palate, ripe but with loads of structure and savoury complexity. Liquorice, black olives, leaf. 14.5% ABV. In its drinking window and should be great for at leas
Drink now. Possibly peaked. Still fruit and the tannin has flattened. Wonderful example of an aged Barossa Shiraz. Long finish on the palate.
Cranberry, cherry, mint, eucalyptus, herbal bouquet, milk chocolate, lots of the complexity, good acidity and green chalky tannins.
4.4 nice Barossa shiraz. Could probably do with another few years in cellar. If you have to drink now give it good hour or two first
Great colour. Deep, dark and mysterious. Palate opens up with blackberries and the oak softens those tannins really well. Goes well
Nice deep rich colour. Subtle complex aroma. Delicious and easy drinking. Really nice Refined Red. Dark fruits and a bit earthy.
Blueberry blackberry oak smoke toast coffee dark chocolate Dry medium acidity smooth tannin body alcohol medium+ intensity and length
Lovely stuff. Paired with a bbq'd flank steak it was pretty much perfect. Big, weighty and full-bodied. Dark fruit, chocolate and vanilla.
A marvellous wine still not near it's best Deepest of colours, rich mature fruits on the nose, on palate a powerful but very elegant wine A classic
Rich blackberry jam fruits, mocha, inky licorice . Toasted vanilla oak with robust tannins that will take this wine going for decades to come
Fruity and youthful with blackberry on the palate. Soft tannins and full bodied with good length and structure. Drinking very well
drank from bottle..purplish red despite 17yrs of bottle age....smooth tannins w raisin like sweetness but not over cloying ..balanced at 13.5%
Best Shiraz I’ve drunk. Fruity, slightly smokey, full bodied and slightly acidic. I do however prefer the producers cab sav more!
10th Night - it’s the big old Meshach! One of my all time favorites. This was just so so good. Decanting let this open up big time!
nice big body, licorice + a bit off cough syrup on top of the black fruits
Fruity! Blueberries, raspberries, apple, orange, it’s like a freakn pack of starburst all in one hit!! Dry and the perfect amount of tannins, just beautiful.
Very good. Almost in the 5 territory. Smooth, full bodied, still has some dark fruit characteristics but is completed with the smokey cloves combined with quince.
The Flagship Shiraz by Grant Burge always a great vino. Nice texture with great length and some spice on the finish. Needs a few more years to be at its peak 4.5/5
キャプランセミナーにて。かなりオレンジ寄りなガーネット 黒系ベリー、オーク、スパイス タンニンすごい、余韻も長め バロッサ南部でつくられる。マイルドでエレガントが特徴 WA96+
Opening with rich raisin tones followed by a liquorice end note - a masterful Barossa Shiraz. Wonderful now, will be magnificent in years to come.
oak blackberry chocolate plum vanilla pepper leather black fruit cassis tobacco earthy
2nd bottle. Once again, very nice, pronounced and complex aromas rush to me right after uncorked: black fruits, violet, wood and earth, eucalyptus, black paper, cinnamon. On palate, weaker than I expected after the extremely pleasant nose. Full body, M+ acidity, strong tannin, bit rough. M concentration and length. Stay at 4.3. 3rd day, nice aroma of Wu long tea, on both nose and palate. Cute.
摩卡巧克力,有点清香,成熟的黑色水果的香气,黑李子,非常甜美的桶感,酒精度高,酸度也很立体,单宁细腻柔和,也很密集,香料味挺复杂的
Subtle tannins, jammy
Part of a Get Wines Direct Scorpion Venom Icon Edition v5 Mixed Dozen @$300.00 from Get Wines Direct (supposedly $1240 Off) - $180 from Dan Murphy's, so exceptional value in this deal! 👍 Drank as a quaffer in our BBQ area with guests staying at our cottages, after a roast lamb dinner. Again I didn't take any formal notes and I don't think we did this any favours either. Ohh well, I have another, so maybe I will look after it a bit better! 👍🤣 14.0% Alc/Vol together with screwcap closure, wi
Big again. Outside of the usual barossa notes. A Leathery earthy taste. Meaty. Good balance to it. Drinkable but big £90 Not VFM tho

黒のベリーとスパイス、キノコ、革の香り。味わいも充実しておりまだまだ若々しい。
필셀보다 엄청난지는 잘 모르겠네
Lovely wine good weight and balance 2009 vintage was drinking beautifully in 2024 oak plum black fruit
At peak - have gone through 60-70 bottles of both the 2001 and 2002 / still love it
Needs time. This is going to be a bomb in four years!!!
Tried this tonight at a Dan's member tasting night. Very subtle and smooth. Quite nice.
Drank oct 13. Smooth full flavor well worth the wait. Loved it.
Barry from weipa recommended
Very bold and fruit at start but tappered off pretty quickly. Not what you would expect from $200 Bottle
Bold taste
산도, 탄닌 있는편
drinking at nigel’s needs more time to develop, smells nicer than it tastes 😌
