Næse: svamp, muld, læder, grøn peber, blyantspids, kirsebærsauce og tomatstilk. I munden: Læder, sure kirsebær, cogarkasse, creme de cassis, svampe, grøn peber, salvie, peberfrugt, sorte oliven, eucalypthus. Blød blød tanniner og masser af syre. Meget balanceret og kompleks vin med stort potentiale. Bravo.

Tasting another vintage of this marvelous Syrah from Bolgheri, probably the best Italian Syrah I know. 👃🏻 Blackberries, blackcurrants, black pepper, dried spices, candied coconut, coffee, licorice and eucalyptus. 👅 Full bodied, powerful and full of tannins, not completely ripe, even after nearly 20 years. Plenty of acidity to go on and on. Plum, raspberry, cigar, oregano and dark chocolate.

Delicious Tuscan syrah. Bold to medium bold liquid with pretty reflexes in glass. Typical syrah in nose and on palate, dark red and black berries topped with light herbs and hints of liquorice, meaty on bottom with bit mushroom. Similarities to good French syrah like Côte-Rotie. Light acidity and minerals. Cf. Australian, not so overloaded but more decent flavour complex and transparancy in mouth. We loved it a lot and will try again.

Had the 2016 side by side with paleo and messorio. Very berry forward, fresh acidity, well balanced, way less Syrah-in-your-face than others from the region. Has a funky cool strawberry-banana sweet note, I’ve never come across. Lost a fair bit after breathing over night
Typical Super Tuscan, easy to drink
This top-notch Syrah from Tuscany offers an unmatched pleasure factor. It’s all you would expect from this grape, but with a big layer of sunshine poured over it. It delivers aromas of clove, chocolate, coconut and blueberry to the nose. The mouthfeel is polished but rich with a broad pallet of plums, cherries, pepper and coffee. It’s a vibrant wine that turned me in a compulsive sipper as long as there was some left in the bottle...
🇭🇰Visit to James Suckling’s restaurant, Hong Kong. Had to try one of his 💯 pointers My second time try the Scrio, 100% Syrah. This time 10y.o. Lots of structure! Needed aeration. High in tannins, quite grippy. High in acidity. High in alcohol, but no drama. Pencil lead, cedar, blackberry, blackcurrant, liquorice and black pepper. Great complexity and depth. Made to age well. Not a 💯 pointers for me, but certainly beautiful 4.5* and more potential ahead.
Celebrating my Bachelor Thesis Part XII This single vineyard Syrah by Le Macchiole is flat out gorgeous! 1998? Not in the bouquet: fresh blueberry meets milk chocolate and some eukalyptus. Then some woody hints and notes of dried herbs. Full bodied, smooth and balanced with perfectly integrated tannins and a great sour cherry character - wow! Pretty long and juicy finish with some cocoa and espesso bean in the aftertaste! Great showing and the perfect wine around a bone fire! I love it! Try it!

This 100% Syrah wine seduces in the nose with a combination of my mom's breakfast cocoa, coffee, fruits as cherries and blueberries, and cinnamon. At the palate flavours of chocolate and blackberries remain for a long time and give this wine a very long persistency! I find some "green" flavours in this wine, which does not mean that it has been harvested too early, but rather that we drink it too young! I think that this wine could last another 5 to 10 years. Second bottle of 3 bought at auction. Cork in tact. Low sediment. Pretty much at peak if not slightly over the crest. But really really lovely.
A supertuscan made from 100% Syrah. Mind-blowing. Gives seductive scent of wild flowers and orchids. Very beautiful wine that has a mysterious charm.

Dit gaat maar zo door voor een Aussie Shiraz. Zelfde klimaat, zelfde indrukken, wat mij betreft. De tannines kunnen nog wel een paar jaar hebben, de zwarte bessen en de peperige onderstroom zijn van niveau. Vanille, pure choco en espresso doen ook leuk mee. Lange, betekenisvolle afdronk. Klepper met finesses!!

Excellent 100% Syrah from one of my favorite Tuscan wine-makers. With extremely low yearly production of only 3490 bottles this wine stands very high. Strong and powerful. It debuted in. 1994.
My first experience of Le Macchiole. Very nice, really like it’s subtleness on fruit and spices, earthy note. Saved up 1/4 for next day, the wine evolved so well on the jammy structure

Deep red color. Aroma and taste of blackberry , chocolate, red plum , dark fruit blueberry, licorice, smoke. Powerful, complex, full body , multi layers. Fresh acidity combined with fresh mild tannins, lingering aftertaste. Ready for drinking. Enjoyable.
Very impressed. First pour had heavy nail polish, high alcohol with heavy plum and blackcurrant. Suspected quite advance in oxidation as the body was thin and flat. The manager agreed and opened a new bottle and my gosh, absolutely stunning. Both @[1|5472382|Alex Fong Ho] and i couldn’t tell this is a 100% Syrah! Rustic, delicious acidity, earthy notes, plum, red fruit. Body was powerful despite 14 years with grippy tannins.
Really interesting red. So dark, almost unevolved color. The nose is the opposite: quite evolved, with mint, black tea, soy sauce, cinnamon and ripe blackberry. Full-bodied, amazing creamy texture, but fairly tannic still. Plentiful black fruit with savoury notes of black olive and a hint of oak. Chocolate-ish as well, but always dry. Could finish a little longer.

Aroma from blackberry, plum, blueberry, blackcurrant, pepper, vanilla, leather, smoke, coffee, chocolate and balsamic.
Super delicious, deep burgundy color, smells of fennel, celery, blackberry, cherry, smoky meat and lavender, firm and structured tannin with integrated acidity, very well balanced full body juice, tastes of pomegranate, black plum, white pepper, violet, black cherry and Asian spice, long finish, drinking nicely now with a good decant, will be fabulous in 3-5 years and provide many years of pleasure there after.

Only 3000 bottles made from this supertuscan Syrah. Scrio means great, and its a real beauty. Rich ruby violet, intense nose with pronounced notes of plums, blueberries and oranges, firm, dense tannins on the palate, clearly earthy notes, firm in the final, lots of tobacco. It's great but obviously not an everyday wine.
A brilliant wine, one of the best Syrah tasted! Rich nose, with notes of cherries, plums with cinnamon, rosehip syrup, berries, slightly smoky, caramel and leather. In taste, smooth dark chocolate and pepper. Balanced, still has potential for aging, long finish, elegant tannins.
Wonderful expression of the Syrah 🍇, somewhere between the Rhone 🇫🇷 expression and the Australian 🇦🇺 expression ( exactly what they intendet ) The owner was a big big fan o Syrah and he preferred Cote Rotie. 4.7. This wine is got to be one of the best 💯 Shiraz I’ve ever had. We visited the winery in Bolgheri 🇮🇹 I didn’t get to try this vintage but got a bottle due to our sommelier’s recommendation. Opened this bottle up for my 5 year anniversary 🤵 👰 Decanted for 2 hours. Hints of dark cherry, blueberry, plum, vanilla, bell pepper, tobacco, and oak. Full body, tannins have soften over the years, medium acid. Spicy 🌶 and strong finish. Paired 👌 with beef kabobs 😎 cheers Vivino friends

There was no way that I could have guessed thatone right.. 100% Syrah and still so different. It has been a fun thing to guess since all of our 13 tasting attendees weren’t able to guess the correct grape. It had such a firmness and gripping tannins that my first guess was Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark red on the eye with brown shades, intense aromas of dark red fruit, mocha, chocolate, earth spice and minerals. Full bodied and with great intensity on the mouth, opens up and reveals new flavors with time, chocolate, vanilla, black pepper and distinct cherry flavors. Well balanced, smooth with somewhat sweet tannins. Beautiful, lingering finish.
Deep ruby red hue with aromas of black cherries, plums, leather, spice, and smoke. On the palate it is full bodied with notes of cassis, cherries, blackberries, chocolate, and peppers. Bold and rich well rounded wine with a good balance. Pairs well with chinese dishes we had for dinner with the family.

This is a nice shiraz with notes of menthol, spices, vanilla/oak, and black fruits. It is complex with medium+ body, elegant tannins and a long, pleasant finish.
This rare 100% Syrah super Tuscan was the winner of the evening, beating out my (slightly corked) ‘99 Chave. Warm and strong flavors, clearly a great producer and expressive wines. blackberry and pepper, with a long finish.
A great Italian Syrah from Le Macchiole, Super Toscana. It’s smooth, sweet, balanced and long finished. Aromas include pepper, vanilla, smoke, oak, blackberry and vanilla. I opened it along with a 2018 Regina Di Reniera from Toscana. The latter has a better value but relatively sharper on tannin and acid. Italian Syrah can’t match the top notch French Syrah and Australia Shiraz but Le Macchiole seems catching up. Opened 1st bottle on 3/6/2023.

スクリオ2003 レ・マッキオーレ トスカーナIGT】シラー100% 落ち着いたガーネット、紅茶、軽いウーロンと、湿布や薬品、胡椒とカラメル、レーズン、木炭と墨汁、 しっかり伸び夜を感じる。イタリアらしい出汁や旨味も奥にいる。 4.3 夜21時、暗がりの雑木林に雪がしっとりつもるイメージ。 初ヴィンテージ1994年。3つのクリュでは最も生産量が少ない。 故エウジェニオ氏が好きだったシラー種を、 イタリアの地でも素晴らしいワインが作れることを目指したもの。 樹勢が強く栽培の難しいブドウを如何にエレガントに生み出すかが焦点。 ボルゲリという土地では、良質なシラーを生む区画も限られており、 したがって生産本数も限られている。 フランスではエレガントなタイプが、オーストラリアではパワフルなタイプが それぞれあり、エウジェニオ氏は両方のタイプを造りたかったが、 実際に出来上がったものはボルゲリのテロワールを呈した個性あるワイン。

A rare find, Tuscan Syrah, and even at this age, Le Macchiole from Bolgheri are known for their incredible Merlot. Ripe and fragrant aromatics, cherry, vanilla, mushrooms, juniper, blackberry bushes, summer pine needles, burnt oak. Dense structure, voluminous body, soft taste, almost no acidity, spicy spices, blackberry, cedar, porcini mushroom, cherry tobacco, mulberries and prunes in chocolate, all soft and warm, notes of resin and licorice. My first experience with one of the finest Bolgheri Syrah, farmed from Puntone & Madinnina vineyards, aged for 17 months in oak, 75% new. Deep opaque colour. My first taste of Le Macchiole’s Syrah. Earthy aroma-flavours with lavender, black pepper and camphor notes. Balanced acidity and fleshy tannins underpin its black and blue fruit core. At peak….drink up.

Excellent Bolgheri producer. Dark inky colour, the notes of ripe black fruits, chocolate and plum jam. Full body, ripe, balanced, savory, good aging potential.
Good shiraz. Spicy and bold, black fruit, oak big tannin with med acididty that gives a nice freshness, and bold tannins that integrate well with other flavors. Good!
