Chris持参の1本@Hafjell。オークやバニラのヘビーなテイスト。非常に好みだけどつまみなしではちょっときつい。笑

いきつけOTTCEROVEで、常温、ちょと冷してと２本も飲んでしまいました常温は、アーシーな口当たり、タンニンが程よくうんまいワイン。２本目 少し冷えた感じは、酸味がいい感じで 全ての料理にボンマリアージュ！このワインイイネとあっと言う間に２本空きました。

Oak vanilla and blackberry. Some tannins. Balanced. Very nice wine. Went well with braised lamb shanks.

Deep dark red in color. Nose was strong dark fruit and oak. Taste was bold but smooth blackberry and plum. Earthy notes with some leather and smoke on the finish.

What a delight. Strong cedar and vanilla on the nose, delightful palate with wood, spices, and dill. Drank visiting a friend who is a staunch and adamant Rioja fan. Really a great experience and sparks my venture into Spain.

Smooth and not spicy. Very complex and pleasant aroma, the 6 years of age gave cheese notes. Chocolate dominant with big notes of leather and oak. Subtle red fruit in cranberry. Very delicious and even nutty.

2018: a great Friday night pour. It’s medium in body but has surprising power and finesse. Bright black plums and black cherry are backed by more savory notes of thyme, tarragon, mushroom, truffle, cranberry, blackberry, cacao, orange zest. Licorice, clove, cedar, and cassis. A great bottle that I’d buy again without any regrets.

Deep ruby. Dark fruit, spice, vanilla, coconut, and floral notes leap out of the glass. Just as good on the palate. Nice medium/full body structure. Dry, medium plus fruit, fine oak tannins, good balance and medium finish. Kind of skewed towards the classic style but also with fine tannins from mixed oak barrel aging. Definite rebuy, and certainly a crowd pleaser. 14.5% ABV. 95/4/1 Tempranillo/Graciano/Mazuelo. $19 at Total Wine.

Smoky nose with tobacco and cigar box. On the palate: dark fruit, oak and black cherry with spices and dried herbs. Balanced acidity and high tannins.

Enjoyed this last night with friends. Elegant and rich Tempranillo with flavors of dark berries and chocolate. Full bodied with creamy tannins. Great wine under $20! Cheers 🍷 91/100

Great value reserva. Look forward to trying the gran reserva to compare but at the price point this is a super wine. Soft tannins that linger and tease the palate. Even better with pasta or dark chocolate. Would recommend.

Nice Rioha! It was very acidic at first without complexity, but this turned into different characters soon after. Leather, pencil, some cherry, and tobacco. Dry, light bodied and still quite acidic. Very good.

I do not know very much about Tempranillo, the Rioja, the grapes, or Spanish wines. My lenses is very Cabernet centric spreading out to the noble grapes and efforts with then in the Americas; and curiosity, and opportunity allowing me to taste other wines from other places. I did enjoy this and put in an enjoyment category of $25-40, so just really very nice wine.

Waitrose でoffer×rioja に惹かれて買ったやつ。 やっぱりrioja美味しい、、一口目甘さがくるけど嫌な甘さでなくてしっかりした葡萄味を感じられて良き。 酸化するとめちゃくちゃ質落ちるから早めに終わらせる方が良い

A solid crowd pleasing Rioja Reserva. Plenty of fruit and smoke. Tannins clearly there but softened by fatty food. Good QPR.

Little acidity first with minerals, it’s difficult to find real taste. Berry, very little pepper, chocolate flavour. Nice quality with a good price.

Deep garnet colour. Aromas of plum, truffle, leather and a hint of lavender. Oaked with Medium to high acidity and medium to high tannin - good balance. High alcohol

Good Rioja. Had it with a lot of other wine and it came through with a strong nose and flavour. Typical vanilla and oak with a slightly Smokey finish.

Not sure of the vintage but picked this up at a tapas restaurant with @[1|59165712|Peter Gorman] to pair with a lamb shoulder dish. Lots of creamy vanilla as well as black cherry, plum and raspberry.

Dennenappels, amarene, pruim. Ronde tannines, mooie lengte met kruiden en specerijen. Vanille, rokerig.

Deep purple. Pronounced intensity, but only 1/2 of Imperial. Notes of cream, vanilla, cedar, confectioned black fruits, and some vibrant red fruits. Complemented by hints of spices such as pepper and cinnamon. On the palate, a long finish with medium acidity, medium tannin and a warming alcohol burn. Lingering creaminess and greater exposure of the jammy fruit characteristics. Great balance and complexity, only improvement is intensity. An excellent Rioja regardless of the price.

Excellent rioja. I could drink this all day. Deep cherry colour and dominant flavours of cherry and oak. I bought this from ocado. I don't have high expectations of supermarket wines but this was a good one. Full bodied. Healthy tannins. Delicious. I would rather pay the £15 that I found it in Sainsbury's than the £17 I paid from ocado. It might have got an extra star.

Happy Tempranillo Tuesday! 4.0 95% Tempranillo, 4% Graciano, and 1% Mazulo. Deep garnet red, 14% alcohol, medium plus acid, medium plus tannins. 2 hour decant, opens with earthy soil, oak, blackberry, cherry and cocoa with hints of cinnamon. Palette offers bold blackberries, grilled black plum, fallen dried leaves, leather and vanilla. Finish is long with velvety and juicy black fruit, leather, smoked brisket, cocoa, baking spice, oak and juicy acidity with balanced tannins. Awesome for $24!

2018. give it at least an hour for the fruits to mellow and for the oak to show. relatively concentrated for a rioja with plenty of raisin and cherries. tobacco, leather and a touch of vanilla. tannins on the chalkier side.

Returning again to this dependently excellent Rioja. Currently on offer at Waitrose for a tenner. This time I’m trying the 2017 vintage and it’s every bit as good. Earthy red fruit set against strong notes of oak. Vanilla and length to the finish. Great stuff

What we love is that the body is so light on the tongue and having 2-3 glasses is quite easy though watch your step. Tannins are medium, body is medium but the feeling is light. Another lovely Tempranillo! And reasonably priced too! Full and interesting. Plumbs and blackberries. Not sweet not dry but somewhere in the middle. A nice standalone.

Strong like any typical Spanish red. High acidity and ruby red color but you think it is black. Luscious perfectly plucked grapes and some other blackberries are impressive in this young bottle.

On the nose: medium intensity aromas of black currant, blueberry, cherry, fig, plum and then some notes from the oak including leather and vanilla. Palate: more dark fruit and cherry, with more vanilla and some coconut. Hints of tobacco. Medium tannins which are nice and ripe for a relatively young wine and medium acidity. Finish: medium length with a very nice balance and complexity. A good value Rioja and will get better for another 5 years

Medium ruby. Nice floral nose with some vanilla. Good structure: bone dry, elegant, juicy acidity, soft tannins, medium length, nice balance. Not as complex as the Reserva version, but very well made and very drinkable. Great QPR and wide availability too.

Rioja realmente bueno con la madera muy bien integrada. Teniendo en cuenta que su precio está por debajo de los 7€, excelente relación calidad-precio. Marida estupendamente con carnes asadas o embutidos ibéricos. A la vista, color rojo picota, brillante. En nariz, aromas intensos a frutas rojas como las cerezas o frambuesas, con un final a vainilla. En boca, es un vino equilibrado, predomina el sabor a fruta roja con un toque de regaliz.

博多阪急のB1ワイン売り場の福袋で購入。 ミディアムボディのため、単独でも飲みやすい。 後味はあっさりしている。

Soft, easy drinking good value. On sale at $12 is a superb value. Good balance and body with some oak, fruit and tannin. It is a medium to full body. (There is "reserva" for $20, not sure of worth the extra splurge.)

重めで、コスパの良いテンプラニーリョ。これなら人にもおすすめできるレベル。

A tasty and dry Rioja with prominent flavours of cherry and leather. Would absolutely serve this to guests as it is easily palatable to even non-usual wine drinkers.

Wino pachnie jeżyną, porzeczką, wiśnią, pieprzem i nutami balsamicznymi. Jest pikantne, ekspresyjne, wyposażone w niezłej jakości taninę i wiśniową chrupkość.

Got a bottle of the 2021 vintage on sale at the LCBO for $13 and was very pleased! Bold oak leads the nose, followed by red currant (slightly sour/bitter character) and licorice and ripe red cherry with the candy flavour element of the licorice really coming out in the taste (without being sweet at all) as well as blackberry. Straightforward Rioja but who doesn't like a nice Rioja with well integrated oak? Plum, cherry and sugarplum, leather. Quite tart palate with more sweet oak derived vanilla notes, cedar wood. Sweet cherry, plum.

Tannins are maybe a little bit too high for me. Cherry and oak is pretty heavy too. Lingering red fruit finish. Better balance and letting this one breathe quite a bit might help. Decent, but not great.

After lunch, we adjourned to Vroni’s (the only wine bar I know of in Glasgow!) and this was our first choice (following on from our lunch at The Spanish Butcher) and my last Spanish wine of my recent focus on these. Plenty of red cherry, raspberry, leather and vanilla. Smooth tannins and moderate acidity.

Weak nose that brings slight mulberry accents, although some of the alcohol still becomes apparent. This wine lacks the full-bodied nature and it feels acidic on the palate. Probably will pass on this one in the future.
