Drank at the beautiful La Bastide in Gordes. 2020 and yet has a lot of depth and layers of taste. Soft tannins, Phenomenal.

Gold. Strong citrus (lemon, orange), marmalade, white flowers (lily), grass. Slightly off-dry, honey, wax, strong minerals, cream, mild spices (vanilla). Medium body, medium-high acid, long fruity finish. Delicious, rich, elegant! Fabulous value. 20% new oak

Lemon zest, honeysuckle, peach, grapefruit. The next day it had a great nuttiness, honey and really awesome waxiness especially for the price. Amazing for the price at $25 from Last Bottle. Only had a taste and half glass Caroline’s last weekend and playing in the pool with Palmer

Shredding acidity in a good way. Honey apple pear in reverse order. Chamomile. Stone cold finish, dry with ripping acid. Mouth watering.

District popcorn kernel note and roasted golden apple and ripe peach. Saline and stone. Cream and round. Potent acidity and length.

Super yummy oxidized apple and pear with slight minerality and salinity. On the palate it’s linear with high acid, oxidized fruit and long finish. Really interesting, funky white.

This is captivating and beautiful. Pale lemon. Pronounced nose of ripe candies pear, honeydew melon, Meyer lemon, lychee, and many more - can’t quite nail that exotic note but it’s enthralling. Dry. High acidity. Med alc. medium body. Outstanding quality. Balanced, good enough length, great fruit intensity, hugely complex. I would say drink now to capture the fruit, but with all that acidity and fruit intensity it will likely develop something completely different. Totally idiosyncratic.

Phoaw another top draw chenin blanc from Jacky Blot . Amazing concentration & structure for such a young wine . Paired with salmon en croute which paired very well - richness & oil in the wine cut through it well Deep gold yellow in the glass . On the nose honey , bruised apple . In the mouth great structure & well rounded . Reminds me of a Nicolas Joly . Butter & cream . Very mourish . Perhaps caramel .

For me, this wine is the ultimate pairing for seafood where I live (Taiwan). Gorgeous bouquet of orchard fruit on the nose. Fresh flesh of peach and pear. The palate is also orchard fruit. A mix of fresh peach and pear, excellent balanced acidity, minerality, and solid length. I first had this with Hong Kong style steamed fish, and the wine stole the show. In a word, this wine is brilliant. One of my favorite white wines. Enjoy.

Finished an exhausting work contract and this was my reward to myself. So worth it. Peach, tart apple, strong honey and mineral notes. A hint of ginger and nutmeg plus white pepper. Nice acidity but still has some buttery notes. Some hazelnut. 12.5%. The bottle is so gone.

(4,4) This speaks terroir with a character of its own. Almost weightless in its harmonious balance, yet there's quite a lot of depth behind it. White flower notes with reine claude plums and a very stoney backbone to it. Fantastic Chenin Blanc.

Complexe. Légère acidité en attaque avec arômes de mangues, ananas. Finale longue avec un goût de pêche et de miel. Impression beurrée. Pas de bois.

Tout en tension, citron, belle acidité, soutenu par une petite note grillée. Une sacrée explosion en bouche, qui se termine par une jolie longueur.

Attention gros calibre Un Loire de funambule tant l'équilibre en tee fraîcheur, tension et densité est bon A boire et à reboire

De la minéralité et de la tension qui amène de la complexité et un bel équilibre, même si le vin est assez solaire (parcelle exposée plein sud et millésime chaud). Jacky does it again! What a beautiful wine. Mineral dominated. Butter and citrus. Green apples. Oak. Just a wonderfully tasty wine.

Smoke, vanilla and melon. A bit more concentration than on the Remus cuvee. Very versatile and elegant with the lemon and salt integrated nicely.

Amazing stuff from recently departed Jacky Blot. Late harvest dry Chenin Blanc with great complexity, creaminess, perfectly integrated oak, freshness... And it's only young.

A very inviting nose and even better on the palate. Green melon with a sophisticated finish, maybe a subtle touch of oak detectable at the very end. Perfectly balanced. If rating for the price, I’d put it even closer to 5 stars.

2025-06-30 Wine #2 on Tales from Loire Lanolin meets wet stones, honey-bruised apples with a hint of cinnamon. Chalky texture that turns oily in the finish, all quince jam and persistence. Still vibrant after nine years, multilayered and properly delicious. This is exactly why you cellar Taille aux Loups instead of popping them on arrival. The depth that emerges with time? Worth every year of waiting.

Mon Dieu que c’est bon. Associé à un saumon gravelax. Arômes de pierre à fusil, de pomme jaune, citron confit, beurre et noisette. En bouche, le vin est gras mais droit en même temps, corpulent et avec de la matière. Pourtant, c’est bien minéral et exceptionnelle longueur en bouche. Magnifique cuvée, je suis sous le charme. 😻

This is a REALLY good chenin, mind boggling at this price. Had at Le Coucou. Jacky Blot impressive full bodied, intensely fragrant, juice. With some oak and apple notes.

Loire afternoon tasting. A Jacky Blot classic. I’d have definitely got Chenin Blanc wrong in a blind tasting. Mellow, balanced, medium acidity, some oaky cream, floral, pear and apricot and all that. Beautiful and introduced me to a new style

Very nice depth. Oak was secondary thankfully to the peach melon ripe apple and earthy honey notes. Very good indeed.

Millésime 2022 bu en 04/2026. Nez pierre à fusil. L’attaque est franche sur les fruits jaunes. C’est tendu, salin avec une belle mineralité. Très très sympa avec un vrai potentiel de garde (5/6 ans encore facilement)

Musk melon, peach and pear with a bit of honey and nutty apricot as well on the nose, but a little less steely than the 2020. Similar on the palate as well, decent acidity so not as lifted, but still great concentration. Very interesting, rich and loads of nuance and substance. Pretty good!

Beautiful chenin from Loire. Excellent QPR, as this wine clearly pulls above its weight. Medium to full body, high acid, fresh and crisp with long finish. Really delicious to drink. Gooseberry, pear, lemon curd, lemon grass, mint, honey, caramel.

Loire CB from the late, iconic winemaker Jacky Blot is a perfect match! 😋 Clay and sand over limestone bedrock; aged in oak barrels (20% new, 80% 1–4 years old); no malolactic fermentation to preserve freshness. Beautiful aromas of lemon, orchard fruits, white flowers, and wet stone. Dry and focused, with vibrant acidity, a silky texture, and a long, mineral-driven finish. The wine balances richness and tension beautifully. Elegant and expressive wine! And

Since the last notes, Jacky has passed away, a huge loss for the wineworld. I raised the quote of 4 years ago. This is living proof of the ageing potential of good Chenin blanc. Deep golden yellow. 👃 medium intense plus, beeswax, honey, some quince, mushroom. 👄 full bodied, some nuts, high very refined acidity. Aftertaste long. It has tertiary elements but they are marvellous, many years of future ahead.

Apricot in the nose, very thick, nicely balanced, spices, ripe quince, honey with nice long salty aftertaste.

Prominent nectarine, orange peel and oils, pineapple, with floral notes as well. Had it slightly less chilled which showed a condrieu type mouthfeel with medium acidity, medium plus body, weighty and fairly long.

Honeydew and melon on the nose. Great structure but lacking a hint of acidity/spine with cheesy raclette. Xmas eve McNally house 2024.

New release 2022, first made by son of Jacky Blot. Delicate, light, honey & marshmallow, high minerality, 12,5% alcohol. I think it will be even better later.

Lovely Chenin from the Loire. Deep golden color. Bruised apple, wet wool, herbaceous and yeast notes on the nose. Palate is medium plus bodied, with great acidity and nice complexity. Keeps developing.

Very interesting Chenin Blanc. Combination of clear fruitiness and mild prickliness, a bit reductive. Sincere and stylish.

Golden apricot color and a remarkably layered bouquet (rich buttery notes, followed by flint and citrus). Beautifully balanced with a subtle delicate acidity.

Superbe. Au nez, la prune et les fleurs blanches. En bouche le fruit est souligné et mis en valeur par une légère acidité, sans se départir des arômes entrevus au bouquet. Belle finale, belle longueur. Jacky Blot est génial.

Pale golden colour, subtle aromas of yellow fruit, honey touch and wet river stones. Delicate, yet intense, fresh, mineral, sophisticated and profound.

I bet you that if you went thru all the restaurants in Leiden and tasted their best white wines, then this would end up in the top 3, maybe even the top. It's got the balance of a great wine, the slate minerality and the spicyness from oak. This will age 15 years and it would be great to drink against a mature Selix. Shame that it is so difficult to come by.

Paired this Chenin Blanc with after dinner cheese tonight at Chateau Alizes. I didn't think I was a Chenin Blanc fan but I really enjoyed this. A bit off dry but loads of acidity to offset the little bit of sweetness. Tree fruits. A litte citrus. Honey notes. Minerality. A complex and interesting wine.
